The oxford dictionary identifies it as a noun and a verb. this suggests that an interview is the name of a process as well as the process.

The agenda behind any interview is to learn the capabilities of the candidate; and;

To figure out whether the candidate will suite the job or not.

The essence of a successful interview is an intelligent conversation.

The recruiters and hiring managers work in their own ways. they are connoisseurs of hiring.

The process of interview and recruitment resonates much with churning curd.

Churning of curd involves brisk agitation of the curd. this accelerates the separation of butter from rest of the curd.

According to Peter Economy of Inc. :

On an average, every corporate job attracts 250 resumes; out of which only 4 candidates will get a call for an interview; out of which the recruiters will hire one of the four.

Out of a whopping number of aspiring individuals selection of the needful happens.

As i said this is like churning curd.

The selected candidate is as valuable and sought after as butter. Yet; this does not imply that the rest were useless.

They may be the buttermilk kind and buttermilk too has its place in the world!

What are the parameters of this extraction and what should you expect of an interview?

So far you might have had an idea of the way recruitment works.

Let’s dig into it’s details

Any candidate who applies for a job has to go through a screening process.

Albeit, the screening process for every other organisation differs from the first.

Most of the companies follow a pre-commissioned protocol to interview the applicants.

Recruiters keep a constant eye on the colossal world of internet. they probe for the best talent across websites such as Glassdoor, ZipRecruiter and others.

Recruitment is a multi- tier process wherein an applicant will go through the following stages:

The first step is obvious; either of the two will happen:

· a recruiter will post a job; several applications will come up

· candidates will post their profiles on freelance and recruitment sites. recruiters approach candidates with profiles tailored for the job roles offered.

Second;

Selection of a few out of a substantial number of applicant profiles occurs. only to pass these candidates to the next rounds of interview.

Contingent to the organisations policies the number of rounds in an interview may vary from two to three; or literally as many as they wish!

Third;

after a round or two of initial screening, telephonic/ video interview the applicant compasses; from applying for the job to entering the final rounds of the hiring process!

Fourth;

Getting through the finicky interview rounds is a hassle worth trade!

Most of the millenials live around a dream. landing into a job role which syncs with one’s choices and capabilities is a dream come true!

Tim Sackett in his rendition of views on hiring process avidly says;

No one needs four rounds of interviews to decide if a candidate is the right candidate for your organisation.

A fifth round, or any number higher, is just adding insult to injury.

No one needs four rounds of interviews to decide if a candidate is the right candidate for your organisation. A fifth round, or any number higher, is just adding insult to injury.

So; if you have surpassed these gruesome rounds of interview. cheers to you!

To make ends meet and survive the odds one should well know the intricacies of the hiring process.

Remember the aim is not to recruit but to reject out most of the candidates. this leaves the recruiters with the best talent.

Education is the key to a prosperous life; agreed, but how far can one trod without much experience?

Your college degree is the proof that you have attended a college and you managed to clear it.

Experience comes from working round the clock with an unwavering zeal for the work you do.

There comes a time in your career where recruiters no longer pay heed to your degree or scores!

All that matters from this point is how much fire can you take;

How many challenges have you been through?

For it is necessary to forge a sword in fire to make it stronger.

What do you think recruiters will prefer?

A candidate with humble years of experience in the industry over a candidate with an impressive college degree.

or;

A candidate who has little or no formal education but holds experience of working in the trickiest of situations.

A candidate who can outshine a college degree with sheer talent;

One who believes in undermining the casualties through careful planning and disposition?

This happens at every flat and curve of the recruitment process.

Apparently, where ever you apply for a job you will have to go through robust screening process. and why not?

Companies and organisations which fall into our comprehension of premier brandnames;

Fortune 500 companies including apple, Tesla , facebook and others… …

What does it take to be a part of these mammoth organisations?

What is the hiring strategy followed by such companies?

The answer lies above and below… yes!

The integrities that i shared so far and those i am going to share now is how these companies pool the best talent.

Not only do they hire the best; they will train you to the best and make sure they get the best out of you.

The recruitment process of say; Tesla;

It follows the standard hiring protocol to a large extent.

I mean the flow chart…

Eorting out applicants> initial screening> technical rounds> HR rounds> done!

Only with a little difference… …

At such a level the recruiters will sort out the best in the initial screening levels itself.

The rounds that follow are to analyse the applicant’s capabilities and compliance.

Most of the time; when you will enter the technical rounds the person on the other side may be the one with whom you may work!

See the point in here?

This helps the recruiters to develop a complete sense of the applicants true north.

Frankly; everybody says “i am a team player” but are you for real?

This is what is being assessed at this level.

True to what I have already shared with you; you will no longer have to worry about that degree you could never finish.

Why?

Hands on expertise, vast knowledge and a will that runs parallel to universe conceals that little hickey.

So; do you think that you have all it takes to be a part of the working for these companies?

Do you wish to work with google, Microsoft or SpaceX?

If you do; you may even find yourselves sitting in front of Elon Musk or Mark Zuckerberg;

They take active participation in hiring there employees because they will never settle for less.

How else could you picture them becoming the fortune 500?

To be a part of a fortune 500 companies you gotta have it all:

Solid determination; sheer knowledge; agility and a mind full of positivity.

Now; do you think you can make it?

If yes; then go on and grab what you can…

Don’t you worry if its not your thing… …

Life has a variety of things in store for you!

Something better or greater is in your way!
